Mastrogiacomo affair: EU should establish a parliamentary inquiry

It is an opportune time for the European Union to set up a special inquiry to shed some light in to the extent of the involvement and the dealings of the Prodi government with the Taleban in the release of the Italian journalist Mr. Mastrogiacomo.
More specifically to investigate if any common EU foreign and security policies have been breached and the implications and consequences the approach used in securing the release of the Italian journalist may have, vis a vis other member states, on future dealings in similar hostage situations.
