Singapore elections

New "elections" have been called in Singapore for next fmonth.
If you can call them that. In some constituencies there will be only one candidate.
Of course from the ruling PAP party.
Just to remind you that the city state has the longest totalitarian one party rule in the world (since 1959) and the de facto "ruler" (more like a dictator but you can't say that) Lee Kuan Yew is the longest serving leader in the world. Even though his son his the current Prime Minister, good old dad is still pulling the strings.
If you follow politics here it is quite interesting. As much as I don't like Lee Kuan Yew, he is still probably one of the greatest Asian politicians of the 20th century.
And for the malay chinese diaspora he is seen as a God.
But make no mistakes: He is a cunning diabolical arrogant, short of a criminal, who did not hesitate to destroy people to stay in power. Ask J.B. Jeyaretnam...
Many people argue that Singapore is what it is today thanks to the vision and leadershirp of Lee Kuan Yew. That he brought a tiny third world malaria infested city state with no resources to first world status.
But at what price?
Yes there are tall buildings, clean streets, an efficient bureaucracy and public services, a booming economy... But this country is a jail with dull sad people who are obsessed by money and air conditioned shopping centers.
There is no vibrancy here. No passionate people with a positive outlook towards life with a can do attitude.
Only robots that obey commands without questioning and sad people who live in timidity and fear a dull existence in a golden prison cell.
Anyway this video summarize well the mentality of the average brain washed singaporean.
